Style
The Deauville has been very aptly described as "the poor man's Pan European". 5 speed V-Twin (cylinders inline) Tourer, fully faired (except NTV), shaft drive, liquid cooled, with integral lockable panniers (except NTV). Very quiet, well balanced, agile, "light on its feet" and gives a comfortable, relaxed, easy ride. Actually built to properly carry a passenger. Can be picked up by one person if necessary (unlike a Pan European). If you liked the CX/GL 500 or CX/GL 650, you'll love the Deauville, as it behaves and sounds very similar to the CX range.
Performance
The 650s will cruise all day at a very relaxed 70mph (5,000 rpm) and quite comfortably at 80-85mph (c6,000 rpm), even with a passenger. It is certainly possible to make sustained cruising at 90mph but this is really the high end of its performance. Top speed appears to be 115mph. Around the town the 650 will readily and quietly lollop along at 30mph in top gear and still accelerate cleanly and without snatching. I'd suggest 0-60 in 6 or 7 seconds.
